Training Design/Development

Studies have shown that the most effective training requires the learner to practice learned skills and demonstrate mastery of those skills in the context of their actual use prior to being expected to perform those skills on-the-job. Training approaches that involve simply describing job tasks in a classroom environment do not always result in the confidence and competence necessary to maximize associate performance immediately after training.

We design customized ‘Task-Based’ training using by applying Robert Mager’s Criterion Referenced Instructional methodology and then develop training processes and courseware using various delivery methods and platforms that allow learners to gain understanding of how information presented relates to core job tasks, practice the learned skills under conditions that simulate the ‘real’ work environment, and receive objective feedback which results in little to no on-the-job ‘learning curve’ after training is completed.

Results of using customized task-based training provide our clients with:

  • Increased immediacy in application of acquired skills resulting from their demonstrated mastery using online, blended, or traditional training methodologies.
  • Reduced training time and costs by focusing on ‘need to know’ and avoiding ‘nice to know’ training content and skills.
  • Increased relevance and alignment of training to the business goals, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and objective performance metrics.
  • Increased confidence and competence of learners when they transition from training to the operational environment.
